A native of Ballylongford, this former North Kerry school principal, author, and popular speaker on many aspects of Kerry history, is also a prominent member of The Tarbert Historical Society and a former president of The Kerry Historical and Archaeological Society. Among his works are books on Robert Emmet and The Fenians and numerous articles to various journals.
His lecture entitled “From Buck House to The House of Healing” traces the fascinating story of the Hon. Lucy Albina Broderick, locally but incorrectly titled Lady Broderick. Her strongest ties were with Castlecove, where the enigmatic ruins just beyond The Black Shop bear testament to her shattered dream, but she was also a regular visitor to Sneem where she worshipped at The Church of The Transfiguration.
Pádraig Ó Concubhair speaking about Albina Broderick at last year's Daniel O'Connell Summer School in Derrynane House.
